MAJOR POLICE SERVICE INITIATIVES
- Successfully tackled the “Chin” and “Arakan” insurgent groups of Burma while being posted in the remotest international border district of Mizoram as Superintendent of Police -received appreciation from Governor, Mizoram.
- Successfully supervised the rescue operations by PCR vans during Upahaar cinema fire tragedy in Delhi and it was widely acclaimed by media and appreciated by the then CP Delhi.
- The Times of India adjudged West District the best-administered district of 1999 while I was the DCP.
MAJORRELEVANT SOCIAL INITIATIVES WHILE IN POLICE
- While posted as DCP PCR, he conceptualized the scheme of ‘Child Line - 1098’ in Delhi;
- While posted as DCP PCR in Delhi, he initiated ‘Help Line Scheme for Women in Distress’ in Delhi Police;
- While posted as DCP West, he introduced ‘Family Dispute Redressal Forum’ in Delhi;
- While posted in West District, he opened ‘Rape Crisis Intervention Centres’ in West Delhi, which was replicated later in all the districts of Delhi later;
- While posted as DCP Central District, he launched anti-trafficking drives and rescued more than hundred minor children from the red light area of Delhi, GB Road.
Awards & Juries’ Applause
- Was honoured by the Delhi Commission for Women in 2001 for his contribution to the cause of under privileged women and children in Delhi.
- Was given ‘Award for Excellence in Public Service’ at India International Centre by the then Minister of HRD, Murali Manohar Joshi.
